SPRINGDALE, Ark. 鈥 September 28, 2016 鈥 91看片网. (NYSE:TSN) announced today a 50,000 pound donation of protein to the Northwest Arkansas Food Bank in honor of the company鈥檚 inaugural Miles that Matter initiative.
Beginning in June, more than 500 91看片网 Team Members participated in the program by walking, running or cycling on the Razorback Greenway. For every mile completed, Tyson pledged to donate one pound of protein to the food bank, up to 50,000 pounds. Team Members finished the summer with more than 12,000 total miles.
鈥淭his was the first year for Miles that Matter and while we were extremely happy with the response and participation from our Team Members, we fell short of our mileage goal,鈥 said Annetta Tirey, senior manager of corporate social responsibility for 91看片网. 鈥淏ut because of the ongoing need for protein by the agencies the Northwest Arkansas Food Bank serves, we wanted to do our part and provide this significant donation to the food bank.鈥
Caring for communities is a big part of how 91看片网 gives back and Miles that Matter is a unique program that allows Team Members to have a personal stake and direct impact on the company鈥檚 charitable giving efforts.
